2011-2012 Volunteer and Fundraising Info (in pdf)
The Saskatoon Figure Skating Club has exclusive use of the ACT ice surface. Rental of this ice is the club’s largest expense, 17,902.50 per month for 2011-2012 season. Fee’s and mandatory fundraising pay for ice rental, program instruction, administrative wages, skater assistance and the costs incurred to run the club such as advertising, programming, insurance and office supplies.
MANDATORY FUNDRAISING FEE: Included in your registration fees.
2 books of Skater Lottery tickets. Each skater in STARSkate, Test Competitive and Synchronized Skating (excluding CanSynchro and CanSynchro Masters), is required to sell and return Skater Lottery tickets to the SFSC office by a specified date. A PORTION OF EACH TICKET BOOK SOLD AND RETURNED GENERATES MONIES RETURNED TO SKATE SASKATOON IN THE FORM OF A GRANT. Additional Skater Lottery tickets are available. The money you receive from the sale of the books is yours to keep.
$178 - Family Membership Fee. Years ago, the members decided that they wanted to buy out fundraisers, such as chocolates, Regal and steak nights etc, due to the lack of interest. This membership allows skaters to purchase additional options (on registration form) or drop in on open option times at a discounted rate. Drop in options cost $8.50 per 45 minutes. Non-members must pay $15.00.
$24.00 - Ice Show Fee. All families are required to purchase 2 Adult ice show tickets when they register. This fee helps to offset the expenses occurred to produce the ice show, such as ice rental at Credit Union Center. Tickets are distributed in March at the A.C.T. This event raises approximately $10,000 per season, our largest fundraiser.
